Alaska’s largest airport shut down inbound traffic because of bomb threat against a China Airlines flight for Asia

  • The flight was a cargo flight that left from Seattle. Shortly after takeoff, the Port of Seattle received the threat.
  • The flight was diverted to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska. It was taken to a secure, remote section of the airport and searched.
  • The police and fire department reported, “After extensive investigation, no explosive device was located. Investigation at the airport has been completed, however, the investigation into the source of the threat continues. The FBI does not believe there is any continuing threat to our community as a result of this incident.”
