Massive extrasolar planet found with Maunakea telescope

  • New planet discovered in Kepler-88 system – Kepler-88 d.
  • Discovered by University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy.
  • Planet has three times the mass of Jupiter and is the most massive planet in this system.
  • Discovery based on six year of data taken at the W.M. Keck Obsevatory on Manuakea in Hawaii.
