Nearly 70% of the inmates at California’s Federal Correctional Institution Lompoc have tested positive for coronavirus.

  • The number of inmates infected with coronavirus at a federal prison in Lompoc, California rose to 792 this week making it the largest federal penitentiary outbreak in the US.
  • 11 staff members have also been infected.
  • The facility houses 1,162 inmates.
  • A military hospital has been built on the grounds to treat the prisoners.
